The Sterling Snail

The moon’s silver rays tapped and tapped on my window
Until I awoke to admire their cold beauty
And wakeful now, I watch the lunar path, strewn with stars
Inch across the sky like a sterling snail,
Leaving wispy clouds tattered in its wake.
