RadioOur radio show is primarily an outlet for a variety of interviews we conduct with fellow artists and individuals with unique perspectives on life. From North Western BC, Alano Edzerza shares the many bends on the winding road to becoming a fulltime artist. Like his parents who have taken many different kinds of jobs Alano has explored many disciplines in art with the guidance of good friends at the right time. Host: Scot Kyle Off the Beaten Trail (Part 1 of 2) Living in Anchorage Alaska Kevin Crowley takes advantage of how accessible it is to go off into the wilderness. The natural environment as well as mystical iconography are themes in his much of his artwork. Being a voracious reader Kevin is both empirical and pragmatic in his discussing of these themes including the ethology of Ravens. Kevin talks about starting his career as a tattoo artist and then moving to pen and ink. After graduating from university in 1999 he traveled to Nunam Iqua (Sheldon Point), Alaska with a population of about 200 on a teaching contract. When the travel bug bit again he traveled through south east Asia and taught English in Korea where he met his wife. Al Chadok is a renowned artist, out spoken environmentalist, philosopher and storyteller. He talks about the paper back revolution, the importance and inner workings of maintaining community from a grass roots approach. He almost single handedly stop the construction of a waste plant that would have deposited toxic waste into Mahone Bay. Al has been a part of countless endeavors of this sort encourages others to get involved in the good fights of their own communities. Jordan has taught there for almost six years. They’ve offered a free course in how to have an out of body experience for many years. Jordan starts off with some background on the Gnostic movement, which traces back to ancient times and discusses the ins and outs of OBE’s. She’s been involved in community building since the early seventies and she shares her expertise about the doos and don’ts about maintaining a self-sustainable community. Host: Devin Tanguay Guest: Sandy Anderson Mystic Community was originally a hobby farm until one man’s dream took precedence. After working hard to earn enough money to start a community Dyfed bought the hobby farm and moved in with his family. He’s been working toward a fully operational self-sustainable community (off the grid) since that time in 2003. There are many complications about starting and maintaining a self-sustainable community and Dyfed is familiar with these dynamics. He discusses what it means to live healthily and his passion for tapping into human potential without the hindrance of censorship. Host: Devin Tanguay Guest: Dyfed From his farm in the west Kootenays Dyfed shares two stories about taking Acid from a much earlier time in his life. In the first story he leaves a party in Richmond (near Vancouver in Canada) and wonders around through the suburbs at night loosing his bearings on mundane reality. In the second story Dyfed is locked up in a mental hospital and given a reality check for his antics. Host: Devin Tanguay Guest: Dyfed Working with Eskimo Dogs on the Arctic Ocean Eskimo Dogs are extremely rare and it’s because of people like Brian Ladoon that their still around. He traveled the far north picking them up and now breeds them in his hometown – Churchill, Manitoba situated on a peninsula between the shores of the Hudson Bay and Churchill River. It’s right on the edge of the tree line and it’s where Kym Rempell found work for a month taking care of the dogs. She talks about what it was like to work with these special animals.
